Every time on this site comes from one value: the Super Bowl kickoff in Eastern Time. Right now that is 6:30 PM ET on Sunday, February 14, 2027. Here is exactly how we turn it into the times you see on each page.
1. The Kickoff Time
The NFL lists the official kickoff in Eastern Time. Until the league confirms it, we use the time of recent Super Bowls and label it as expected. Once it is confirmed, every page switches to the official wording at the same time.
2. Converting to Other Time Zones
We convert the Eastern Time kickoff with the official IANA time zone database, the same rules phones and computers use. That handles daylight saving time, Arizona and Hawaii, which do not change their clocks, and countries where the game falls on Monday. Because the Super Bowl comes before daylight saving time starts, every US zone is on standard time on game day.
3. Halftime, End Time and Trophy Estimates
Halftime and end times cannot be known in advance, because they depend on the pace of the game. We estimate them from a typical Super Bowl:
| Moment | How we estimate it | Result (ET) |
|---|---|---|
| Halftime show | About 90 minutes after kickoff | ~8:00 PM ET |
| Game ends | About 3 hours and 45 minutes after kickoff | ~10:15 PM ET |
| Trophy presentation | About 15 minutes after the game ends | ~10:30 PM ET |
Estimated times always carry a ~ sign or the word approximately. Overtime, long reviews or a fast first half can move them.
4. Your Local Time
The “your local time” line uses the time zone set on your own device. It is calculated in your browser, and nothing about your location is sent to us. If your device clock or time zone is set wrong, that line will be wrong too, so check it against the zone tables.
5. States With Two Time Zones
Thirteen states are split between two zones. We list which areas fall on each side using official time zone boundaries, so you can find the right kickoff even if your state uses two zones.
6. When We Update
When the kickoff time, the teams, the performers or the broadcast details change, we update the source value once and every page follows. The updated date on each page only changes when its content changes.
